Spring 2025 Enrollment Next Steps
For General Freshmen
Once you have accepted your admission offer and committed to Hunter, review and complete the steps below in order to successfully start your journey at Hunter College as a first-year freshman student.
All new students are required to submit immunization records to begin their journey at Hunter College. Please complete the following:
- Submit your MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunization records. Please follow instructions here.
- Submit your Meningococcal Meningitis Acknowledgement. Please follow instructions for CUNYfirst here.

Within five (5) business days after you have committed to Hunter College and submitted your deposit in CUNYfirst, you will be able to activate your Hunter College email account.
To access your Hunter email, please log-in to Microsoft Office 365 and click on the “Outlook” icon. Your log-in credentials are as follows:
- CUNYfirst username@MyHunter.cuny.edu (first.lastXX@myhunter.cuny.edu)
- Office 365 Password: Your CUNYfirst password
All official College communication will be sent to your Hunter College email address. Make sure to activate your Hunter College O365 email account immediately and make a habit to check it regularly.

As you register for Freshman Orientation, be sure to update your Anticipated Major on the event registration form, as this information will be used to build out your first semester course schedule. Your course schedule will be ready to review approximately one week prior to Freshman Orientation.
New Spring 2025 Freshmen
Mandatory freshman orientation will take place on Thursday, Jan 23, 2025. Please check your MyHunter email for the event invitation link about 5-7 business days after you complete all previous steps. Orientation will cover how to register for classes, degree requirements, student life, community standards, and how to get your Mobile Student ID credentials to start the school year.
How to Register for Orientation
The registration link for the Make-Up Freshman Orientation will be sent to your Hunter College (@myhunter.cuny.edu) email address 5-7 business days after you complete all previous steps. Please check your Hunter College email account for your invitation to register for the event.
Please be sure to complete all items below at least 1 week before your orientation date:
1. Submit Photo for Your Hunter Mobile OneCard (Student ID Card)
All new incoming students will be granted access to their Hunter Student ID Card, known as the Mobile OneCard. Your Mobile OneCard may be accessed via your mobile phone by following our step-by-step instructions for setting up Multi-Factor Authentication. To gain access to your Mobile OneCard after you have attended orientation, you must upload a photo no later than five (5) business days prior to your scheduled orientation date.
Once uploaded, go to the Hunter Mobile OneCard site and follow instructions to upload and activate your Hunter College Mobile OneCard. For questions, please contact the Hunter Mobile OneCard office.

2. Download Navigate Student Mobile App
Stay connected to your advisors with the Navigate Student app. Use the app to connect with campus resources. Sign up to receive alerts, texts and email messages.

3. Review Your Course Schedule 1 week before orientation
As an entering freshman, you will be automatically enrolled in your first semester course schedule 1 week before your scheduled orientation date. Your course schedule will align with your Anticipated Major as indicated on your Freshman Orientation registration form.
Be sure to register for orientation to get an assigned course schedule.
4. Activate Your Hunter NetID
You will be sent your Hunter NetID and temporary password via email. Your NetID will be needed to:
- access Hunter’s secure WiFi during orientation
- RSVP for student events
- complete various applications such as declaring a major/minor, late registration, and course repeat requests
- access on-campus library resources, computer labs, etc.
Keep an eye out for an email notification with subject line “Your Hunter College NetID.” Follow the instructions in the email to activate your Hunter NetID and reset your temporary password.
