Mellon Arts Fellowship Alumni

SUCCESS STORIES

Divine Jones (C5) is currently an intern at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in the Curatorial Department, helping to prepare their upcoming retrospective on Alex Katz.

Kimberlee Innis (C5) was the External Relations intern at the Bloomingdale School of Music, where she is now hired as a part-time staff member. Additionally, Kimberlee has been hired as the Hunter College Office of the Arts assistant for 2021.

Rebecca Miralrio (C5) completed a Spring Internship at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum during her first semester in the Mellon Arts Fellowship and had her final project for the internship published in Summer 2021 on the Bloomberg App. Additionally, Rebecca was a BRIC Arts Curatorial Intern during summer 2021. Currently, Rebecca is an Interpretation and Research Intern at the Whitney Museum in their Education Department.

Gillian Ochoa (C4) was hired for a full-time position at Artnet as a Client Services Specialist.

Jessica Diao (C4) was hired to continue working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the External Affairs Department following her Spring 2021 internship there.

Ariane Terrell (C4) had her internship contract extended for an additional month to continue completing projects at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

Macy Rajacich (C4) had her internship contract extended into the summer to continue working at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.

Chelsea Arenas (Cohort 3) completed a Spring Internship at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and will have her final project for the internship published in Summer 2021 on the Bloomberg App. Chelsea is currently an intern at Christie’s in their Modern/Impressionist, American Painting, Latin American, Prints and Multiples department, working primarily with American Paintings for their upcoming sales.

Yanitza Lee (Cohort 3) began Graduate School at NYU in Fall 2020, studying Music Therapy. She continues to also work part-time as an administrator at the Bloomingdale School of Music.

Elda Monterroso (Cohort 3) following her internship, was on staff at Atlantic Theater Company as the Interim Grants Coordinator. Currently, Elda is the Grant Writer and Coordinator at Sundance Institute.

Ana Paredes (Cohort 2) worked as the interim school marketing manager at Atlantic Theater Company following her Mellon internship. Additionally, Ana was offered a position as the general management fellow at Playwrights Horizons. 

Isabelle Fernandez (Cohort 2) was asked to continue working at The Frick Collection as a contractual museum guide and as an educator, leading guided visits for school-age students and staffing Wednesday Atelier, their gallery sketching program. 

Nikky Gonzalez (Cohort 1) is now the capital campaign assistant at The Frick Collection.

Kiefer Rondina (Cohort 1) was offered a part-time teaching assistant position at Ballet Hispanico following his internship there.

Susan Flores (Cohort 1) was given the opportunity to continue working for the Studio Museum of Harlem in their relocated offices after the fellowship.

"I'm feeling really thankful for this fellowship—which so beautifully encourages relationship building and opened the door for me to full-time employment."
