She graduated from Hunter in 2019 as an art history major and is currently an airman in the Air National Guard where she is a culinary specialist for the federal military reserve force.

Emoni was recently accepted into Hunter’s MA art history program and will start in fall 2021.

Isabelle Fernandez ('19)

Muse Scholar Isabelle Fernandez graduated from Hunter with a BFA in studio art. As part of the Mellon Arts Fellowship, Isabelle interned at The Frick Collection. There, she worked closely with the education department, assisted with school tours of the museum and gave frequent gallery talks.

Upon her completion of the fellowship, The Frick Collection asked Isabelle to continue as a contractual museum guide and as an educator, leading guided visits for school-age students and staffing Wednesday Atelier, their gallery sketching program. She is now at the Frick Collection full-time as their education assistant, and finishing her BFA thesis. Watch Isabelle Fernandez's talk.

Joshwald Martinez ('19)

As a Mellon fellow, Joshwald interned at The Public Theater for their Special Artistic Projects department.

Joshwald served as secretary of the Hunter Theatre Company during his undergraduate career.  He majored in theatre as well as Africana and Puerto Rican studies.

Ana also track changed the in show Enhancement Agreement for future right and printed daily finance reports from ticketing, tuition and credit card processing systems using ASAP, OvationTix and Heartland Connected.

Ana graduated in 2019 with a BA in English through the Thomas Hunter Honors Program. Ana worked as the interim school marketing manager at Atlantic Theater Company following her Mellon internship. Ana was thereafter offered a position as the General Management fellow at Playwrights Horizons.

Alyssa Regent ('19)

Alyssa is a Caribbean-born composer from the island of Guadeloupe. As a Mellon Arts fellow, Alyssa had the opportunity to intern at Carnegie Hall, assisting with programs in their Weill Music Institute. Alyssa’s work at Carnegie was most closely related to their Lullaby Project, which pairs pregnant women and new mothers and fathers with professional artists to write and sing personal lullabies for their babies, supporting maternal health, aiding childhood development and strengthening the bond between parent and child. In New York City, the project reaches parents in healthcare settings, homeless shelters, high schools, foster care and correctional facilities.

Alyssa is currently a pursing her master’s degree at Hunter studying conducting and composition.

Jenny Shin ('19)

Jenny graduated as a media studies major with a minor in art history, two areas of study which she believes directly result from a personal interest in the intersection of more practical skills and creative thought.

She interned at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum during her Mellon fellowship. She was a recipient of the Full Merit Scholarship in Hunter’s Macaulay Honors College and, in 2017, she was awarded the Hunter College Office of the Arts Summer Internship Award.
