Hunter College has two student governments: the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and the Graduate Student Association (GSA). As representatives of the student body, they promote the academic and social interests of all Hunter students.
The Hunter College Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is the officially recognized, democratically elected student representation for all Hunter undergraduate, matriculated and non-matriculated students. It is responsible for the protection of students’ rights, students’ welfare, student involvement in academic policy and curriculum formation, and an awareness of local, national and international affairs of significance to students.
Our Goals:
Support the student community
Advocate for affordable higher education
Fight sexual assault on our campus
Coordinate with Hunter faculty
All graduate students are members of the Graduate Student Association (GSA). Graduate students are encouraged to participate in the various clubs GSA offers, and can utilize the services provided, which include the graduate lounge and attendance at special projects and events.
The GSA is composed of elected senators and an Executive Council. Each senator represents their program of study, and the senators elect six Executive Council members.
