Program Description
The aim of the MGU International Student Program (ISP) is to provide a creative academic environment for studies pertaining to Japan and the Japanese language for students who have studied Japanese for a minimum of one year at the university level. The International Student Program welcomes exchange students from partner universities located in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.
Exchange students are required to stay in the Yokohama dorm.
There are a limited number of scholarships through JASSO available for exchange students studying in Japan. Accepted students are automatically considered for this award.
For more information (including estimated costs/expenses for a semester), visit the MGU website.
All students participating in the exchange program are required to enroll in the CUNY comprehensive travel insurance policy through Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) in addition to the Japanese National Health Insurance. Visit the Global CUNY page to learn more about the CUNY policy and view monthly rates. Accepted students will receive the appropriate code to self-enroll.
