You can assure your academic success by reviewing the Hunter College and CUNY policies below.
At Hunter College the only source of academic rules and regulations is the Hunter College Senate and its committees, composed of faculty, students, and administrators whose authority comes from the Board of Trustees. Any exceptions to these rules may be granted only by designated individuals as explained below.
Appeals for administrative exceptions to academic rules and regulations—including such matters as course substitutions for the General Education Requirements (GER) or Hunter Core Requirements (HCR), and other academic situations involving coursework—are heard in the Office of the Hunter College Senate, Room 1018 East.
Appeals for course credit overload and foreign language appeals are reviewed in the Office of Advising, Room 1119, East Building.
Policies regarding student conduct and academic integrity are implemented CUNY-wide. If you believe that you have a situation at Hunter College that requires a decision or appeal, please meet with the Director of the Office of Student Conduct or the Associate Director.
Some policies require that forms be submitted in order to implement the policy or appeal a decision. For your convenience, PDF versions of many forms are provided below. Some forms can be filled in digitally.
Because policies and their related forms are revised from time to time, please ask your Advisor to review the form with you before you submit it.
